National Insurance Scheme in the UK for International Students

National Insurance is a scheme whereby employees make payments towards government benefits. The payments are called National Insurance Contributions and certain benefits are only payable if you meet the National Insurance Contribution conditions. National Insurance Contributions also go towards funding the National Health Service. If you intend to work in the UK, you must register for a National Insurance number. The National Insurance scheme is administered by HMRC. For further information, please visit: http://www.adviceguide.org.uk
