REGENT IGS is officially recognised by the Accreditation Syndicate for Education and Training (ASET). ASET originated in 1920 and today it is a national awarding body that examines, approves and certificates learning programmes that are delivered at licensed centres in the UK and internationally. ASET is the second largest provider of vocational qualifications in the UK. ASET certificates are recognised widely by employers and educational establishments. Scholarships

REGENT IGS offers scholarships to those students who have gained outstanding achievements in their previous studies. Up to 50% of a student’s tuition fees will be paid through the scholarship. The Scholarship Committee decides whether a student qualifies for a scholarship.

In order to apply for a scholarship at REGENT IGS, the applicant should first enroll on a course. Once REGENT IGS has accepted the student onto a course, the candidate will be invited to submit an application for a scholarship when available.

Airport pick-up

REGENT IGS operates a service to meet newly arrived students at the airport and bring them either to REGENT IGS or to their accommodation. Students should indicate on the appropriate form whether they would need this service. Students will be charged for this service and the cost will be given when the pick-up is confirmed. Students requiring this service are requested to download ‘Request for Airport pick-up and transport’, complete it correctly and forward it to REGENT IGS in good time.

Student accommodation can be arranged in advance. Prospective applicants should indicate on appropriate form whether they require assistance in finding accommodation. Please note that tuition fees do not cover rental charges. Current rental prices can be obtained from the Student Welfare Officer at REGENT IGS and overseas agents. Students requiring this service are advised to download the form ‘Request for Accommodation’, complete it correctly and forward it to REGENT IGS in good time.

Medical Care for International Students

Students enrolled on courses of more than six months’ duration are entitled to medical treatment on the NHS free of cost. REGENT IGS can offer assistance and advice with regard to this. After arriving in the UK, students should register with their nearest GP surgery as soon as possible. Any international student attending a course of less than six months is advised to take out an international health insurance policy.

National Insurance Scheme in the UK for International Students

National Insurance is a scheme whereby employees make payments towards government benefits. The payments are called National Insurance Contributions and certain benefits are only payable if you meet the National Insurance Contribution conditions. National Insurance Contributions also go towards funding the National Health Service. If you intend to work in the UK, you must register for a National Insurance number. All non-European Union (EU) students require a visa (entry clearance) in order to enrol on a course at Regent International Graduate School (REGENT IGS). Students can obtain assistance in their visa application from either our overseas associates or our immigration advisors at REGENT IGS. Our immigration advisors are qualified and regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC). If you need to renew a visa, please allow sufficient time.

At level 3, the application of knowledge is assessed through a wider range of work activity, where the context of application is non-repetitive, complex and where the candidate has to demonstrate a greater degree of responsibility and authority. National minimum standards require managers of care homes to have relevant qualifications for the type of care provided and to have a qualification in the management of services to NVQ level 4.

This is primarily a management qualification although some of the units are taken from Health & Social Care Level 4. The focus is on the task of managing services for older people, people with learning disabilities and people with mental health problems.

Diploma in Care Delivery and Management (sandwich work-based learning scheme) is a sandwich programme comprising English language training and NVQ L2 and L3/ or L3 and L4/ or L4 and RMA element, depending on the prior learning of the applicant. Please note that the student will not be able to follow the programme without proper work placement learning, as the NVQ elements are built into the programme.

Tennis, horse riding, sailing, bowling, pitch and putt, netball, cricket and fishing are also available. Crystal Palace National Sports Centre has excellent sports facilities and is a venue for several major national and international athletics tournaments.
